First Work is pleased to once again be hosting our annual Futures Conference on Tuesday, October 4th - Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, Ontario.

We are currently in Phase I, collecting workshop proposals for sessions in our learning streams, including:
  • Intake, Assessment & Counselling
  • Job Development & Employer Relations
  • Organizational Development & Human Resources
  • Personal Wellness
  • Understanding and Using Technology
  • Employment Ontario
  • National Youth Employment Issues
  • Government Relations & Policy
  • Ontario Works (OW)
  • Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS)
If you have expertise in these, or related topics, and would like to take part as a workshop facilitator at Futures 2016, kindly complete the online submission form. For further information on submitting a proposal, the Futures RFP Guidelines are available online.

Phase I Incentives for Speakers
Phase I candidates have the benefit of indicating their preferred workshop date and timeslot in the Request for Presenters online submission and will receive first consideration. The deadline for Phase I workshop submissions is Friday, March 18th, 2016.

If you have any questions regarding potential session topics, please contact futures@firstwork.org to discuss it further with our organizing committee.

The final deadline for all submissions is Friday, April 22nd, 2016, with all candidates being notified whether their workshop has been accepted by Friday, May 27th, 2016.

At Futures 2015, on average, 86% of workshop participants said the session leader(s) created a great learning environment. We invite you to be one of the more than 50 engaging and passionate facilitators at this year's conference whose expertise keeps our network thriving.
